This is a bush-bean variety and does not require staking. Beans are best grown in full-sun and prefer rich loamy soil.

The average yield for 'Contender' is around125-140 quintals (12,500–14,000 kg) per hectare
French bean can be sown twice a year, in January-February and July-September in
the plains and March to June in the hills. 

Also suited for growing in containers.

Maturity: Early-maturing, with harvest in about 50-55 days
