Berseem is an annual leguminous fodder crop, often called the "king of fodders," that grows from its seeds and is highly valued for its nutritional content and high yield.
It provides excellent green feed for livestock, is rich in protein (17-22%), and improves soil health by fixing nitrogen. To grow it, you need 8-10 kg of seeds per acre, plant them 1-2 cm deep in well-drained soil, and mix them with Rhizobium culture and 750 gm of mustard seed for better yield.
Seed rate: Use 8-10 kg of berseem seeds per acre.
