NSC Cowpea Kashi Nidhi (CP-6) is a high-yielding, early-maturing (45-50 days) open-pollinated variety developed by ICAR-IIVR, ideal for both summer and rainy seasons. It produces 140–150 quintals/hectare of tender, long (25–30 cm), dark green pods, with high resistance to the Cowpea Golden Mosaic Virus.
Plant Habit: Dwarf, bushy, and sturdy plant (45-50 cm height).
Maturity: Early maturing; flowers in 35-40 days and first picking occurs within 45-50 days after sowing.
Yield & Pod Quality: High-yielding with 140–175 quintals/hectare of green pods. Pods are long (25–30 cm), tender, and dark green, preferred for fresh consumption and market sale.
