Gobindobhog chal, or Gobindobhog rice,  has a unique sweet, nutty flavor and is used in a variety of dishes, particularly traditional Bengali sweets likepayesh (rice pudding), and is also offered to deities in religious ceremonies. It is prized for its delicate fragrance and has been awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag due to its unique origin.
