Decorative kulo (or chalun in some regional dialects, also known as morram or soop elsewhere in India) are traditional, hand-painted winnowing fans that are significant cultural items, particularly in Bengali and other South Asian ceremonies. While they were originally utilitarian items used for separating grain, their decorative counterparts are now primarily used for festive, religious, and home décor purposes.
