Red chilli powder is a staple spice used all around in India in various cuisines. Also known as lalmirch powder colloquially, this spice is treasured for its fiery hot taste which it gives to any dish it is added to. Red chillies, from which this spice is extracted by drying and grinding, is abundant in India.
