How to Use

To change your oil, you will need the following tools and materials:

• A new oil filter (check your owner's manual for the correct size)
• A new oil pan gasket (if necessary)
• A funnel
• A wrench
• A drain pan
• Safety glasses
• Gloves

Once you have gathered your tools and materials, follow these steps:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Open the hood of your vehicle.
4. Locate the oil drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the oil pan.
5. Place the drain pan under the oil drain plug.
6. Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug.
7. Allow the oil to drain completely.
8. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
9. Locate the oil filter. It is usually located near the top of the engine.
10. Use the wrench to loosen the oil filter.
11. Remove the oil filter and discard it.
12. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
13. Screw on the new oil filter until it is hand-tight.
14. Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine.
15. Check the oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
16. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
17. Check for leaks under the vehicle. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil drain plug or oil filter until the leak stops.

Tips

• Change your oil at the recommended intervals. The recommended oil change interval is usually 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.
• If you are not comfortable changing your own oil, you can take your vehicle to a mechanic to have it done.
• Be sure to recycle your used oil and oil filter.
