Talks in China

Talks in China (1925) is a collection ofectures delivered by Rabindranath Tagore in China in 1924 at the invitation of the Bengaliecture Association. Many of the poet's talks were informal, delivered without any written notes. His China visit was extremely tempestuous, he met with organized hostility from the members of the Communist Party and wasabelled both reactionary and ideologically dangerous. Talks in China is dedicated to Susima, Tagore's name for Xu Zhimo, the noted Chinese poet who acted as his interpreter during his visit.
