Chili powder (also spelled chile, chilli, or powdered chili) is made from the dried, pulverized fruit of one or more varieties of chili pepper. In some cases, additional spices are blended in, in which case it may also be referred to as a chili powder blend or chili seasoning mix. It is widely used as a spice or spice blend to add pungency (piquancy) and flavor to a variety of culinary dishes.
