Nanotechnology is an emerging field in medicine and dentistry. Nanotechnology is the study of small sized particles. Application of nanotechnology in periodontics is called as Nano periodontics. With an increasing trend of regenerative treatments for periodontal diseases, new techniques have been developed to aid in the formation of new tissues to replace the damaged tissues. Therefore, a better understanding of the science of Nanotechnology opens up new vistas for innovations and improvement in prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of oral diseases. Periodontal disease is a multifactorial and polymicrobial disease that affect millions of people around the globe. It is estimated that 90% of the world population suffers from the disease.
