The period of creation of 'Patna stlyle' or 'Patna kalam' painting is about 200 years from the 18th to the 20th century. The painters of this style had the tradition of Rajput, Mugan and Pahari miniature painting. But its forms gradully changed in the Company's era. In Patna, it was recognized as 'Patna style' due to its subject , style and form. In this painting, the environment of that time and the lifestyle of the common people have been beautifully depicted.
