Citizens and the Constitution

The present work authored by Subhash C. Kashyap, former Secretary General, of Lok Sabha, discusses the theme of citizenship values under the Constitution by analyzing the provisions of the Constitution. The book tries to deduce therefrom citizenship values and examines how they have been implemented so far and how they can be understood, disseminated, and realized in practice in the future. The title is based on the citizenship values under the Constitution of India and explained in the context of the role of a citizen in the polity. This would imply all the rights, responsibilities, and duties of citizens vis-a-vis other citizens, society at large, and the State. This revised edition has more updated material on the latest developments of citizens, their rights, and duties. The book makes an interesting reading and would provoke further thought and study.
