S. Kota Rythu Bharat FPO farmers are actively cultivating black gram, a nutrient-rich pulse crop known for its high protein content and soil-enhancing properties. The FPO supports its member farmers by providing quality seeds, technical training on best agronomic practices, and assistance in post-harvest processing to ensure better yields and quality produce. Black gram, widely used in Indian cuisine for making dal, papad, and other value-added products, has strong market demand. The FPO promotes sustainable and organic farming methods, helping farmers improve productivity while maintaining soil fertility. Additionally, the FPO is working on strengthening market linkages and exploring opportunities for value addition, such as processing black gram into flour and ready-to-cook products, to increase farmers' profitability. Through these initiatives, S. Kota Rythu Bharat FPO is enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers and boosting black gram cultivation in the region.
