Bhangjeera is an aromatic, hairy crop up to 150 cm in height and it is cultivated in the higher Himalaya and well suited for sandy soil. The seeds are edible and provide oil that is used in cooking and in medicine. The leaves, seeds and flowering tops are used as flavourings in cuisine and used as a chutney.
