Tuticorin (Thoothukudi)

Tuticorin, or Thoothukudi, is a historic port city district in southern Tamil Nadu, often called the "Pearl City." It's a major industrial and economic hub, famous for its large salt production, chemical industries, and one of India's oldest major ports. The district has a rich maritime history, played a role in the freedom struggle, and is also home to important religious sites like the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple.
