NSC Kashi Harit Pumpkin is an improved, high-yielding variety of Cucurbita moschata developed through ICAR research for open-field cultivation. The plants are vigorous with strong vine growth and good fruit-setting ability, producing uniform, medium to large fruits weighing 4–6 kg with green rind and firm, deep-orange flesh of good cooking quality and keeping ability. The crop reaches marketable maturity in about 80–90 days after sowing, and under recommended ICAR agronomic practices it yields approximately 150–200 quintals per hectare, making it suitable for both commercial farming and home gardens across diverse agro-climatic regions.
