NSC Kashi Harit is an improved pumpkin variety developed by ICAR–IIVR, Varanasi, known for its high yield, uniform fruits, and excellent cooking quality. This variety is suitable for both commercial cultivation and home gardening.

Fruits are medium to large, round to oval, with smooth green skin and thick, firm flesh. The flesh is sweet, nutritious, and ideal for cooking or processing. Kashi Harit produces vigorous plants with a high number of fruits per vine and matures in approximately 90–100 days after sowing.

The variety adapts well to different agro-climatic conditions and shows comparatively better tolerance to common pumpkin diseases. Its attractive appearance, uniform size, and good shelf life make it highly preferred for fresh market sales and household use.
