NSC Kashi Dhawal is an improved ash gourd (winter melon) variety developed by ICAR–IIVR, Varanasi. This variety is known for its high yield, uniform fruit size, and excellent keeping quality, making it suitable for commercial cultivation as well as home gardening.

Fruits are large, oval to cylindrical, with smooth skin covered by a white waxy coating at maturity. The flesh is thick, tender, and mildly sweet, ideal for cooking and processing. Kashi Dhawal produces vigorous vines with a high number of fruits per plant and matures in approximately 90–100 days after sowing under recommended practices.

The variety adapts well to varied agro-climatic conditions and shows comparatively better tolerance to common ash gourd diseases. Its attractive appearance, long shelf life, and good yield potential make it highly preferred for market sales.
