We work every day to ensure that our team gets to become financially independent and gain new skills along the journey of up cycling, recycling and making. With women empowerment at the heart of everything we do, we try to engage women from underprivileged communities who have often been exposed less or have received very little education. These are homemakers who become the artisans and designers of ours and their futures. These women come from very distinctive backgrounds – we scout them mostly through word of mouth, and they join us for variety of reasons, each as unique as they are – but end us uniting for their passion to move the community forward. 62 women are directly involved under Ekatra. We have partnered with various NGO’S and government programs who teach skills to these homemakers but they don’t earn a living from it. We help those women to become financially independent and make their life worth living for! We got live on Shark Tank and got an opportunity to work with some major names in the country, like FabIndia, Google, Airbnb, Big basket and Reserve Bank of India . Along with women empowerment, our another key focus is the environmental impact. With our ‘second life project’, we upcycle the residue of leftover cloth material and create unique products.
