Plant Characteristics

• Appearance: Features delicate, fern-like (lacy) foliage and large, semi-double blooms that are 5-7 cm across.
• Height: Typically grows quite tall, reaching heights of 3-5 feet (up to 6 feet in some conditions), making it suitable for the back of garden beds or as a backdrop.
• Colors: The "mixed" aspect refers to a blend of flower colors, including red, rose, lavender, and white.
• Life Cycle: It is an annual plant, blooming from midsummer until the first frost. 

Growing Conditions & Care

• Sunlight: Requires full sun (at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily) for optimal growth and abundant blooms.
• Soil: Prefers well-draining soil and actually performs well in poor or dry soil; avoid over-fertilizing, which can result in excessive leafy growth and fewer flowers.
• Watering: Keep the soil moderately moist, but avoid waterlogging. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant.
• Sowing: Seeds are easy to sow and typically germinate in 7-14 days. They can be direct-sown or started in seedling trays and later transplanted.
• Maintenance: Low maintenance, deer resistant, and generally easy for beginners to grow. Regular deadheading (removing spent blooms) encourages continuous flowering.
