History (Wikipedia):

From where we get Kamaicha- Small history below:

Our knowledge about this instrument is primarily sourced from Wikipedia. Therefore, as per Wikipedia, we shared this small history to let our customers know about its background. Specifically, the seventeen-string kamaicha, or khamaycha, is a string instrument expertly crafted from a single piece of mango wood and features a round resonator covered in goat leather. While it shares connections with the sarangi and chikara, the kamaicha produces a unique sound that sets it apart.

Three of the instrument's strings are made from goat intestine, while the other fourteen are crafted from steel. This instrument ranks among the oldest bowed string instruments in the world, second only to the Raavan hatha. Furthermore, the instrument plays a vital role in Rajasthani folk music, particularly in regions like Jaisalmer and Barmer. Notably, prominent players such as Sakar Khan, who received the Padma Shri for his contributions to the instrument, and Dapu Khan have helped popularize this unique instrument.

Sakar Khan, of Hameera in Jaisalmer, is a senior musician of the Manganiars, and people widely consider him to be the greatest Kamaicha player and, furthermore, among the foremost musicians of the community. Additionally, his father Chuhar Khan, who was also a very well-known Kamaicha player, trained him. Sakar Khan toured India and the World in his younger years and received recognition for his contribution to the music of the Manganiars and to Rajasthan. Providing a rich history for the kamaicha
