Joha Rice

Joha Rice is a traditional Assamese Rice notable for its distinct aroma and excellent taste. Cultivated only in the Brahmaputra valley, it is healthy and used for making delicious delicacies. Classified as a special class of Sali rice (Winter rice) of Assam, it is being main staple food for Assamese from centuries.  Along with its taste, studies have found that joha rice has several health benefits due to the presence of polyphenolic and flavonoids content. Rich in antioxidant properties it helps to fight against ageing and many other diseases.
