Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) is an immune system disorder that results in a low number of blood cells called platelets. Platelets are necessary for clotting and help to stop bleeding .Most cases considered idiopathic or primary, whereas some are secondary to coexisting conditions.
