This saree was initially conceptualized by weavers of Odisha as a dedication to Kargil heroes at the time of Kargil War. The Kargil cotton sarees available on My Clothing Treasure are sourced from the original cluster of weavers in Odisha who have been practicing tie and dye art of ikkat since 12th century.
